Primary Schools Team finishes fourth in Scotland

Gavin Maguire with the Irish Primary Schools team

The Irish Primary Schools team finished fourth in the Home countries tournament held at Largs in Scotland over the Easter but they were unlucky. Having drawn 5 -5 with Scotland, they lost on a count back to finish third.

Disappointing as this was for the players, the good side is that they are all eligible next year for the team and this is very positive for an age group with a huge potential for the future.

The Girls team finished third in a spirited performance including a storming performance against England which included seven three setters although we eventually lost 7-3.

Gavin did well for his first time and with two years left he will have another chance to improve. He won one against Scotland and two against Guernsey.
