Neal and Gavin shoot the opposition down in Cork.

Neal O'Flynn won his first tournament of the season when he stylishly defeated highly rated Ulster Under 12 Paul McCreery in the final of the Under 10s event at the final Irish Junior Ranking of the season in Cork. His 14-12, 11-2, 11-6 win sent a clear message to the opposition as he upset the form book to win the title. The second set in particular saw Neal dominate the match. Not bad for a guy who is still under 10 next year.
It made up in some measure for his disappointment in the Under 12s when he lost to club mate Sean Slein in the last 16. His brother Mark also had an uncharacteristic tournament losing in the quarters in five sets to Patrick Guy and then losing to Daniel Keenan in the Under 12 semi final. However Mark finishes out the season ranked Number one by virtue of his four previous appearances in the final.
Gavin Maguire made it to this final and lost 3-1 to Daniel there. He beat Paul McCreery in the semi-final. Andrew Holohan, Niall McDonnell and Shane Foster all gave a good account of themselves and considering that they are all Under 14 next year they seem to hold out great promise for the future.
