Mark O'Flynn won his first open tournament at the Leinster Junior Masters played at the weekend in the IWA,when he defeated Gavin 3-1 in an all Eastpoint final of the Under 12s.
This followed Mark's great performance in the Under 14s where he reached the quarter finals and lost narrowly 3-2 to Ed Wyrnn Irish No.2 cadet. In that match Mark showed his fast maturing game can compete with some of the best cadets in the country.At two-one up and 9-6 up against an admittedly nervous Ed he looked pretty impressive and can be very happy with his progress so far this season.
In the other half of the under 12s Gavin was also impressive coming through a tight five setter with Carl Ivory before besting Niall MCDonnell the Irish No.1 Under 12 for the third time this season.
In the Junior Boys John Murphy repeated his Munster Open victory when he won the final against Conor Nolan 3-1.
