Andy is a finalist in the Leinster ranking tournament

Andrew Boland finished Runner up in the Leinster Junior Ranking.

Andy Boland powered his way to the final of the Leinster Ranking tournament in a fine display of attacking Table Tennis.

Having unfortunately run into Brian Farrell in the last sixteen, they served up a classic encounter with Andy scrapping home 13-11 in the fifth. After that Andy was in fine form beating Ed Wyrnn 11-1 11-7 11-4 in the quarter finals in a great display of forehand topspin attack.

In the Semi-Finals Andy overcame D.J. Hickey in four closely fought sets to reach the final. In the final Conor Nolan was very sharp but still Andy had chances in the second set before losing out 11-9,13-11,11-9

This fine display coupled with a good day's play from James Berry and Robert Monks is a promising start to the Leinster Campaign.

The only real disappointment was that Brian and Andy had to play in the last sixteen as Brian was playing well also. Still his day will come. Today belonged to Andy! you can read how the Under Twelves did here
