Sean Givernaud was in superb form winning 9 out of 10 at the first weekend of Junior British League. The other members of the team Robert Monks and James Berry struggled and did not win a match. It was a tough experience for them but they are training very hard at the moment and even this tough experience will stand to them. Both are only under 15 and have many opportunities in front of them. Sean's performance was superb considering that he travelled from France and was under pressure as all eyes were on him to see how he was playing. Barring one lapse of concentration he was faultless in his play. Especially impressive was how good he was when two sets to one or nil down. In one particular match having won the first easily,he dropped the next two sets 11-6,11-3 but then played two superb sets to raise his game and win 3-2. We can now look forward to the next weekend in February when the team will have improved and hopefully we can reverse some of the results |
