Perfect 10: League team win title with an unbeaten run

10 out of 10 for Eastpoint premier team. Fielding one of the strongest teams in recent years we have recaptured the Premier division title and in the process made it four wins in five years.

This season we have two Leinster league teams. Our first team are in the Premier division and they made a positive start to the season by winning their first three matches. Against CYM Terenure the team of John Murphy, John Bowe and Mark OFlynn won 7-2 with John Bowe and Mark winning two each and John Murphy in his last match before heading off to Sweden for a month winning his three. In their second match they ran out 8-1 winners against MT Pleasant.The team was John Bowe, Conor Nolan and Mark OFlynn with John and Conor winning three and Mark losing one to Dave Butler.

In the third match the team of newly crowned Munster Open champion Bernard Weiss with Na Ning and Mark OFlynn took on St Pauls Drogheda. The result was a 7-2 win for eastPoint with Mark dropping the two singles with 5 set defeats to both Norman Lovie and Pat McGlachan.

Our Second team is in division One and they have had two close encounters but have lost both matches 6-4. On both occasions Gavin Maguire has won two and a combination of Brian Farrell, Andrew Holohan and Niall McDonnell have won the other matches.
